English Language Proficiency Assessments and the CCSS

Learn about assessments aligned with the CCSS now in development for English language learners (ELLs), including accessibility features, accommodations, and alternate assessments for students with significant cognitive disabilities. Representatives of Assessment Services Supporting ELLs through Technology Systems (ASSETS) and English Language Proficiency Assessment for the 21st Century (ELPA 21) will discuss issues including when an ELL student should participate in an alternate English language proficiency assessment, technology-based accommodations for ELLs with low-incidence disabilities, and how the four language domains apply to students with significant cognitive disabilities.
