This webinar will provide condensed versions of the small group sessions from the CEC 2011 Convention and Expo's Institute Individualizing the Use of the Common Core State Standards. The webinar will address linking IEP goals to the CCS in ELA and Mathematics for students in grades K-5 and 6-12, as well as modifying the CCS for students with severe disabilities. Resources for research-based instructional strategies that are inclusive of all disability areas will be introduced.
- Follow the progression of skills in ELA and Mathematics across grades K-12.
- Select the essential skills at each grade level when addressing the difference between the level at which the student is performing and grade/age level mastery.
- Describe the difference between modification and accommodation.
- Select resources and strategies that are relevant for instructional goals.
