Sustaining Effective Practices When Principals Change
An unintended outcome of principal change can be the shifting away from hard-earned implementation of effective practices in instruction and behavior support. While change can be good, it shouldn't come at the expense of student improvement. Drawing from experience in implementing school-wide positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS), this webinar will offer strategies for selecting, implementing and sustaining effective practices during periods of principal turnover. After viewing this program, you will be able to:
- Describe the district's role in sustaining effective practices during times of transition
- Discuss the role of school teams in selecting, implementing and documenting effective practices
- Discuss strategies to maintain momentum during principal transition
- Describe the role of data systems that document both student outcomes and program fidelity.
