Teaching Content Literacy and the Common Core State Standards in Diverse Middle Schools: Using Collaborative Strategic Reading

In this recording, Drs. Klingner and Boardman discuss each CSR strategy, summarize the research and demonstrate CSR materials, with examples of students using CSR across grade levels and in differing content areas, with emphasis on connections between CSR and the CCSS. The focus is on diverse, inclusive upper elementary and middle school content classes. The presentation explains how CSR helps all students and why it can be particularly effective for students with learning disabilities, typically low-achieving students, and English language learners (ELLS).
