Teaching Content Literacy and Common Core State Standards
 
Teachers, reading specialists, school administrators and others who work with students who struggle with reading need to attend this webinar to become familiar with this validated instructional approach. Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR), which is aligned with the Common Core State Standards, supports reading comprehension, content learning, and language acquisitions in culturally and linguistically diverse classrooms. In this webinar, Drs. Klingner and Boardman will discuss each CSR strategy, summaraize the research and demonstrate CSR materials, with examples of students using CSR across grade levels and in differing content areas. The focus will be on diverse, inclusive upper elementary and middle school content classes. The presentation will explain how CSR helps all students and ways in which it can be particularly effective for students with learning disabilities, typically lower-achieving students, and English language learners.
